Imma do me… Translation… I’m going to do what I want to do….

You know it bothers me to hear people say “Imma do me”, “Imma keep it real” and all the time they aren’t doing what they say.

Please do not make statements on Facebook, MySpace, Twitter or anywhere else proclaiming how you are going to live your life and not be what someone else wants you to be and “Imma do me”.  If you are going to “DO YOU”, do just that.  Be the best of whatever it is that you are professing.  God gave us free will to do things… He also has a perfect plan for our lives.  When we decide to do things, it should be because WE want to do it.  And once you have the conviction to do something, you need to have the courage to live by it.

True fact… When I got saved, I tried my hardest to keep up with all of my friends and do what they were doing because I didn’t want to “lose” them.  I did things in the church because I didn’t want people to “think” that i wasn’t living right.   Living two lives is hard… So I prayed about things and God showed me who I really was.  After he showed me ME, it was on. I realized that I am not here to please man but rather as Matthews 10:28 says “Do not be afraid of those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul. Rather, be afraid of the One who can destroy both soul and body in hell.”  I have to please God.  Yes I may stumble but we are WORKS IN PROGRESS.

People are human, they make mistakes, have their own opinions.  What do you say about you?  What does GOD say?

If you are going to keep it real, you have got to be real with yourself.  There is nothing worst than someone trying to be something they aren’t.  Don’t try to be something that you aren’t or God didn’t intend for you to be.  Reminds me of “Where’s Waldo?”.  Always trying to duplicate people and/or situations instead of conforming to his image and will.

Life and death are in the POWER of the tongue.  What are you speaking?  I encourage you to speak LOVE… Love conquers all things.  When your heart is free, life is good.  I no longer hold up anger against anyone.  I tell them, IN LOVE, how I feel and encourage them to say what they feel.  Keep it real with people.  People include mother, father, sister, brother, aunt, uncle, cousin, grandmother, grandfather, niece, nephew, co-worker, friends, pastor, deacon, evangelist, husband, wife, boyfriend, girlfriend… Did I miss anybody?

So DO YOU if you know who the REAL YOU are….
