Have you ever heard the saying “some people are in your life for a reason, a season or a lifetime”? That phrase has been uttered to me three time in the last day…. I think God is trying to tell me something.

The first person said it in Sunday school as we spoke about Ruth, Naomi and my man Boaz 😉 The relationship that Ruth and Naomi had was far more than a season… God placed them together for a great reason… the lineage of Jesus was formed.

The second person whom I just reunited with after 19 years said it and I believe it to be true. God used her in a way that I made me cry… Just the thought that someone can speak into your spirit as if they have been around your whole adult life is undescribable. I’m usually the one trying to life hung down heads and she actually turned the script and did it to me… I appreciate that because its rare in my life and I’m not slighting anyone but I didn’t have to encourage her first or give her a story… She just spoke and babes, homeyboo… our friendship is for life!!

The third person, whom I’ve never met in person, years ago through correspondence said the phrase to me because he wondered why God placed me in his life and thanked me for encouraging him while he was “down”.

Thinking on reasons, seasons and lifetimes… Look at your Facebook, MySpace, Twitter, Yahoo friends list and see how you classify the 1000s of people. Know your role and ask God to show you the role “friends” play in your life.

Real friends are like precious stones, don’t step on them!!!
