So is there an issue if Jesus’ name is not mentioned in a song? Does it make the song less effective? Does it make the song not Gospel?

So there are a few hits over the past year “Never Would’ve Made It” & “I Just Wanna Be Close To You” that doesn’t say Jesus’ name in the lyrics and have been played on all radio stations. The bible says he is Wonderful, counselor… I believe that if you know what he is to you, then many secular songs can make you think of Him. Alicia Keys has a song called “No One”… I feel like no one can change the way I feel about Jesus. Musiq’s Love (Jesus is love) expresses how I feel about my Lord and savior. There are so many things I got to tell him but I’m afraid I don’t know how because some of my days didn’t line up with his word.

Before we tear apart music and condemn songs, think about the songs that made you get over. The song that rings in my head that doesn’t explicitly say Jesus that will make me remember how I got over is I need thee oh I need thee. Every hour I need thee. Oh bless me now my SAVIOR, I come to thee. Is this song less effective without Jesus’ name? NO because I know there are many names I can/do call him….

Don’t get it twisted I love to call on the name of JESUS!! Jesus, Jesus, Jesus.. Let all heaven and earth proclaim. Jesus, Jesus, Jesus. Like the fragrance after the rain. Kings and kingdoms shall pass away… But there is something about that name…
