Many know the story of Ester. “Fair” girl prepared for a King….

Ester was chosen out of a lot of girls to be brought to the king for his approval.  She gained favor with Hegai and was placed in the best part of the house with 7 maidservants.  Before Ester could be Queen, she had to go through a period of purification “immediately he provided her with her beauty treatments and special food”. That process is still alive and well today.

Ester’s purification process was 6 months of oil and myrrh and 6 months of spices and such.  The purification process had to be completed before she could get a chance to have her “date” with the King. The 6 months of oil of myrrh, in our time, could be us allowing God to anoint us with the Holy ghost.  Once the oil is in us, when we are pressed, we will have what we need to fight back the tricks of the devil. The last 6 months of spices is so that when we go to the father and our lives are aligned in His Will, we will be a sweet-smelling savour to him. (Eph. 5:2 “And walk in love, as Christ also hath loved us, and hath given himself for us an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweet-smelling savour”).

The time of purification can seem long and there could be a time where the spirit of loneliness tries and creep up but you have to use what you’ve learned during the purification. Being single isn’t a disease (borrowed from FBF) and yes sometimes it has its issues but if wait on God and do as I Corinthians 7 says, “an unmarried man is concerned about the Lord’s affairs—how he can please the Lord”, he wont disappoint you. God wants us to focus on him and do his business and he in return will take care of yours.

Ester no doubt knew the “prize” that was before her.  She knew that there was a chance that she could be rejected but she did as she was instructed to do.  Her one night with the King changed her whole life.  Now it took Ester 1 year, it doesn’t mean that your time will be one year.  It may be  3 months or it may be 3 years but whatever time it is, focus on what you are told to do.  Dont look to the left or to the right, HE’S PREPARING YOU…. Your spices and oil is for you.  And if you end the purification before its finished, you jeopardize a lifetime.
