I have always liked Toni Braxton “Breathe Again”. The lyrics are lovely but lately I have been singing the chorus “Breathe again, breathe again” for a totally different reason.  We never notice how much it is to breathe…. Many know I suffer with my sinuses.  I’m allergic to everything it seems like (some say I should live in a bubble).  Over the past year, I have really deteriorated.  My job is full of mold, dust, bugs, asbestos, lead paint and anything else you may think of… It started being so bad that I could hardly walk up a flight of stairs without getting tired.  I could walk long distances but the mere thought of steps made me run for my inhaler.

I went to an ENT #1 and found that the polyps were filling my nasal passages. He sent me on my merry way with some Prednisone and Nasonex… I tried to get through with it but found that the prednisone was making me gain weight and the nasonex was doing nothing… I found another ENT #2 in March.  As soon as he heard me speak he said, “Wow, you are full and there is something in here triggering your sinuses”… From that statement, I felt i was in the right place.  He examined me and then put some office “solution” in my nostrils.  Thirty seconds late, I was breathing fully.  I told him I was in love with him 😉  He gave me some suggestions and had me go consult an Asthma/Allergist because if he did the surgery, I would still need maintenance since I work in unhealthy condiditions….

I prayed and debated for a few days and decided to go through with the surgery.  I scheduled my appointment with the Asthma/Allergist and she mad the same statement as the ENT #2, “you’re full, lets get this under control”… I must be in the right place again… After doing the first 60 prick test, she found that I was allergic to 40 of the 60.  This wasnt surprising… Now I have to return to get the needles test to ensure the correct shot is administered. She made me take Prednisone to help with breathing but that only made me gain 15 pounds in 2 weeks!!! WTH!!

Now, Surgery day is here… We arrive, my bro and I, to the medical clinic and the last thing I know is the anethesiologist is saying take one more deep breath… I awake and find my brother waiting to take me home.  Operation was a success. When I get home, I am still drugged so I slept most of the day.  I have great nurses and am able to sleep with minor problems.  I found myself waking up because I closed my mouth and no air could come through…

Day#2 and the healing is continuing.  Have a little blood loss but an able to eat my soggy cereal… I have one more full day of breathing through my mouth but I thank God for the guidance he gave the doctors and expect to have a great recovery.  Im on my own today since my nurses a
